Spooky Escape
You are trapped in the basement of an old, haunted brothel and you must escape. The only exit is a door on the 2nd floor that opens up to the street. Each stairway/door to the next level is locked with chains and you must find the key for each floor. The only thing that stands between you and freedom now are the malevolent ghosts who want to kill you.
As one of the programmers on the game, my part of the project was setting up the AI, and its interaction with the Player.
- The AI follows the player once they "see" the player
- Otherwise it would wander randomly around the level
- They also have reference to one another so that as they follow the player they will stay separated from one another.
- When the player enters a safe zone the AI would steer to the opposite side of the level, to move away from the player.
- If they happen to be passing through the safe zone then they cannot hurt the player.
- They get stunned for a period of time when they are hit by the flashlight.
- They have an effect that will turn them blue to show they are frozen
- After the stun wears off they will then return to their home location and then repeat the cycle of, wander and then following the player.
